Your Day to Day: Garaga Mid-America is looking for an Electrical Maintenance Technician for its plant in Ponca City, OK. You will perform services and repairs of manufacturing equipment and fixtures such as motors, lighting, and/or electrical panels.
JOB SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Electrical Maintenance Technician will apply best practices and procedures utilized in electrical maintenance. He will ensure all safety and compliance regulations are met and has good knowledge of National Electrical Cod and other applicable standards and regulations.

Our Electrical Maintenance Technician Responsibilities:
- Installs and repairs electrical wiring, systems, and fixtures in buildings.
- Installs conduits and pipes to house electrical wires and cables.
- Ensures piping complies with electrical codes.
- Installs circuit breakers and other electrical hardware and connects wiring to them.
- Tests electrical systems to ensure proper installation and operation.
- Inspects electrical systems to determine whether repairs are needed.
- Replaces conduit and wiring as needed.
- Replaces circuit breakers as needed.
- Performs general plumbing, electrical, and heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) repairs to the facility’s equipment and systems.
- Inspects equipment and systems to identify problems or issues.
- Reviews blueprints or building plans to identify the best solution to resolve systems or equipment issues.
- Conducts preventive maintenance to ensure that plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems continue operating properly.
- Obtains services of outside contractors when repairs require specialized training.
- Performs general cleaning tasks in the facility.
- Maintains inventory of cleaning and maintenance supplies.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills We Are Looking for in Electrical Maintenance Technician:
- High school diploma
- Three years of experience working on manufacturing equipment.
- Completion of a formal apprenticeship and/or valid electrician’s license preferred but not required.
- Thorough knowledge of electrical systems and wiring.
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
- Proficient in the use of test meters and other diagnostic equipment.
- Ability to read blueprints, building plans, and repair manuals.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Must be able to see color to discern color-coded wiring.
Physical Demands
- Prolonged periods standing, kneeling, bending, pulling and climbing ladders and/or scaffolding.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
